Kissing Teddies

Kissing Teddies | 2022

These teddy bear jaquards were my first experience with knit. After taking a class that allows students to use the Shima Seki, a Japanese knitting machine, I tried to translate my graphic skills into a fabric output. With only three colors to use, and a screen made of pixels, I tried to keep the graphic simple. The image is a picture of a 90s brand of stickers called Sandy Lion. After producing this, I realized I had a personal connection to them, as my last name is Valentine and this soft blanket is delicate just like love is.
